Segue recently attended the fifth annual AFCEA Bethesda Health IT Day at the Bethesda North Marriott Conference Center on October 18th. The event was a success and well-attended, with over 750 senior-executives and IT professionals from across industry and federal agencies in attendance. Those who registered for the event were granted access to keynote presentations and panel discussions from key stakeholders at critical agencies such as the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DoD). These major healthcare entities are responsible for achieving Federal health objectives through the use of IT. Federal roundtables allowed for one-on-one Q&A opportunities to discuss challenges, trends and initiatives between government and industry. Topics ranged from cloud computing, shared services, mobility, information sharing, electronic health records, privacy, big data, fraud, waste and abuse, telehealth, and health informatics among many others.
Segue joined with our partner Net New Growth, to be the official Social Media sponsor of the event and in doing so, we received a great deal of exposure and outreach to a bulk of local industry leaders and attendees. On the Twitter “1’s and 2’s” were tweet prodigies Matt Gorbsky from Segue and Allison Bunker of Net New Growth, who were in charge of live tweeting as @afceabethesda from the event, showcasing important points, and relaying information from the speakers and panel members. Using social media helped to spread the event to a greater audience and capture in real-time some of the most pressing issues to attendees. Also as a result, our social media presence grew exponentially, especially on Twitter. Be sure to add to our growing wave of tweet momentum and follow us @seguehealth and @seguetech!
